Let There Be Light

I am currently a third year student studying Ba Photography at Staffordshire University. I got my first SLR, a Pentax ME Super, at the age of 11 and have been passionate about photography ever since.

Over the years, I have mainly concentrated on music and nightclub photography and was employed for five years as the house photographer for a heavy metal fancy dress rock club night! Working as a club photographer has given me the confidence to be able to approach people in a friendly and relaxed way, put people at ease and get the best out the shot.

Since joining Staffordshire University however, I have discovered my love of studio work. I particularly enjoy portraiture as well as product photography. I have also enjoyed the challenge of the more technical areas of freezing motion with my splash photography.

As a former Higher Level Teaching Assistant and Teacher of ICT and Computing, I am hoping to teach photography in further education. This portfolio is designed to show the range of skills I have gained and hope to be able to share those skills with the next generation of budding photographers.
